The procedure for considering an application for obtaining a refugee status in accordance with the Regulations Governing the Work with Refugees No. 188, approved by the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic on April 4, 2003.
Note: *The procedure for considering the application lasts from 6 months to 1 year and consists of the following steps:
– interview with the applicant;
– verification of authenticity of submitted documents and reliability of received information;
– preparation of conclusion on the results of application consideration;
– making decision on the recognition as a refugee.
During the period of appeal, a person who has received a refusal can receive free advice and legal assistance in drawing up an application to appeal the decision in court from the Law Clinic “Adilet”.
If a person decides to leave the Kyrgyz Republic before or after making a final decision on refusal to recognize as a refugee, an authorized body will assist in obtaining an exit visa.
Such services as registration, certificate issuance, refugee status determination procedure (all services), as well as services provided by partner organizations of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, are rendered free of charge.
